Graduation rehersal and such

Hey world, back again for some stories. Vacation hasn't truly started as I see it. Today I had to wake up at 7 am to take my brother to school. He's a sophomore, and as such, he isn't out like senior me. Mom and dad had to go to work so they weren't able to take him to school, so I had to. Well at least I didn't have to go back to school right? Wrong.

But before I get to that, I have something really strange that happened. After dropping my brother off, I was really hungry so time to eat breakfast. But some how, I was like so hungry that my mouth and throat and stomach wouldn't let me eat anything. I take a bite of muffin, and my mouth refused to chew it, then some crumbs were swallowed, and my gag reflex started overworking. I was afraid I was sick, because I seriously felt like I was going to puke. Running over to the sink, I get a drink of water. Realizing I would take it, I started drinking a lot instill the so hungry I can't eat turned into just hungry. After that I went and ate my muffin.

Today was graduation practice in the east gym. Every senior wants to spend his or hers first official day off while everyone else still has to go to school sitting in the schools smaller gym while it is 93 degrees outside and probably 95 degrees in the school sitting and going over graduation service. Oh paleese. I saw a few of my friends but it was still boring.

Well at least afterwards I got to spend time with my girlfriend darkenedoptimist. We went to the restaurant that is right next to our school for lunch. It was nice spending some time with her. Then her friends joined us. It wasn't invasive since it wasn't a real real date. But it was a little weird because they started having girl talk in front of me. Just a little weird because I'm a strait guy and they were talking about boys.

It was also cap and gown pick-up, and because 2 of us, myself being one of them, was last name A-G. We went to pick up our stuff and had to wait outside in the heat before we were able to go in and pick up. It took 35 minutes for us to get through the line. Oh well, we kept each other company.

So I come home and a lot of time passes. I call in for my scholarships, and lets just cut to the dinner table conversation of that. I call my college for this scholarship they're giving me and they ask me "when are you coming to orientation?" My parents have been talking about this for a long time, but I drew a blank. My exact words were "uhhhhhhh. I know I have it written down some where but off the top of my head, I can't remember." A couple of posts ago I mentioned that my family likes to make fun or each other. There was some making fun of me on my parents end. My dad kept asking if I took stupid pills and saying "it's a good thing you got senioritis now as apposed to during finals." Later he started quoting back to the future saying "think McFly think." It was funny.

So that was my day. Boring and funny.

happy mamorial day

Hey everyone. It's mamorial day, and like any patriotic American, I did something to remeberour soliers. As a boy scout, I paticipated in a flag ceromony led by the local VFW. We has the VFW, American Legion, city police, boy scout troop, and other caring citezens. It was a hot day so we had our water. It was a really nice ceromony, with a 21 gun salute.

After that my mom made me clean out my school stuff. 2 galon zip lock bag of stuff I want to keep, and 1/3 a paper grocery bag of stuff to recycle.

My grand parents came over shortly after I finished so I could open graduation presents. Here's what they got me.
After eating lunch with them, they left.

Mom then asked if someone wanted to go with her to pick up carry out at Logans. Wanting to do something, I said I'll go. Befor going to get it, we went to the dollar store to get some fun lawn toys for the kids that will be at my graduation party. We got some sidewalk chalk and hula hoops. After that we went to Logans and placed our order. I ate probably over 30 free peanuts.

After dinner I read the first chapter of this novel my girlfriend is writing. She wanted me to read it and tell her what I thought. It's good so far.

I now got a crazy week ahead of me. Hopefully there will be time to blog. Untill then, later.

water park fun and more

Hey everyone, what a day yesterday. It started out like most Sundays, wake up, go to church, come home home, then do nothing. Well there were some big differences that made it cool.

For starters, I stopped by a garage sale on my way home from church. I love those basement garbage sales, especially when I find something. This time, I found this amazing Luke Skywalker Plate for $10. Even if I wasn't a star wars fan I would have bought it. At bottom collectors price, I'd say I could get at least $30 online.

(click to buy on amazon)

So after that, I sit on my couch ready for a day of nothing. I ate mac n cheese for lunch, and got the remote ready for a day of channel surfing. But then my girlfriend called me up and asked if I wanted to go to the water park. Enjoying the water park and time with her,I jumped at the idea.

Her mom had to baby sit, and not wanting to have a 2 1/2 year old in her not baby proof house, she decided to take the 3 of them, and me, to our local enough water park. That was fun. The water park isn't really large, since all it has is a 3 slide water slide, wave pool, lazy river, and a kiddie area where in order to get in you need to be shorter than 43 inches. But it is still fun, and because it was opening day, admission was half price. Woohoo.

We went on the lazy river, went on the slides, and went in the wave pool. The wave pool was really cold, but the river was nice. Slide no complaining since the cold exit pool just gave extra incentive to get out quicker. It was really cool running into my friend who's a life guard there and graduated last year. He was monitoring the lazy river so we had a conversation that lasted a couple of sentences. He also gave me advice on how to go really fast on the water slide when he was guarding the exit pool. The was a few issues with my girlfriend and I but we resolved them.

There were some issues with the wave pool. There weren't any waves. We floated around for awhile. Then they fixed the waves so that was fun. But then some one was drowning. That was interesting. They stopped the waves with the emergency shut off and all the life guards gathered. 2 dived in to rescue the person. Then the waves started up again. By the end of the day I got my first sunburn of the season.

Then we come home and they drop me off. My mom comes out to say hi and asked if they kicked us out because of the weather. Apparently there were tornado warnings. Right after she asked that, the sirens start going. They run home and I go inside. My brother starts making a bunker basically in our basement. He's pulling all his emergency stuff down there, and other things he wants to keep safe. I remember we both did that one storm and we did have a would be bunker in the basement. At most we got rain, no big deal. He now has to bring everything back up.

Quite an eventful day.

My last day of school

Hey everyone, instead of a long schools out video like last year, I'm just going to talk about my cool last day of school. Oh, and let me say this was last Thursday.

It started out slightly different than most last week if school days. The day befor, all the seniors were going to paint their cars, but because of the rain, we didn't. So some of us decided to paint our cars befor school on the last day. I was one of them. Because it rained the night befor, my car was a little wet. I decidded, "it's my last day, what can they do to me." I took off my shirt and started to dry my car with my shirt. The dampness actually helped out some in the hot school. I got some paint on, but then it rained during school, so most of it washed off. But I'll get to what we did later because of that.

So I had my last 2 finals. I had my lucky tweety on my desk and used my lucky pencile. Now befor you start telling me luck is stupid and fake, save your breath, I already know that. I know good luck charms are all placibos, but if that helps, it helps. And because of the lucky tweety, my psycology teacher let me keep my hat on during the test. Hats are against the rules at my school. Both psycology and physics were decent. I knew my material.

So next comes the senior video. And FYI, seniors last day is a half day. Well normally the video is shown on the closed network cable in the school, but because of the weather causing all the 1st floor TVs to not work period and the 2nd floor TVs to get a horible signal, we watched it in the auditorium on the big screen. That was prety cool. unfortunately none of the hundreds of pictures I submitted made it in. I think some how the cd I submitted got corupted. But they wereable to find the first video I made in video class, where I pull random things out of my pockets and demonstrate camera tecniques with them, and timelapsed it. Another cool thing is that they will try to find music from our childhood for the childhood section. It has been forever since I've heard Mombo Number 5. It was prety funny.

So now that's over and it's time fo senior walk. My school actually does this really great seromonious goodbye to all the seniors. Everyone gets excuded to stand out in the hall and say bye to all the seniors as they walk the hall. I said bye to mostly all my underclassman friends. Some of them weren't out in the hall, so I missed them. A lot of people cry at that, because they're saying goodbye to all their friends and teachers, but I didn't. I'm not cold hearted, and I have many non-senior friends, but it just didn't phase me.

So then that was over, and it was time to go home. I invited a bunch of friends over for a "we're done" celebration, but it only ended up being my best friend and girlfriend that came over. It was fun, but not a full on party. My mom gave me money for us to have fun. You're awesome mom. We ended up spliting a hot n ready. But first, we painted my car. Remember how I said I painted my car befor school but it all washed off in the rain? Well if you don't scroll up, it's there. Well I had 3 paint sticks, and 3 people. We each took a paint stick and went crazy. Check out the final result.

Prety cool huh? I got some honks for seniors. Well after we got the hot and ready, we watched crockidile dundee and simpsons movie. Both really funny movies. We also played my atari.

Well that kind of ends my amazing last day.

Reconecting with my formal self

Hey everyone, I got this letter in the mail yesterday. Yes, a letter from a person in the mail that wasn't an advertisement. Such a novel thought in this current age of technology, but it gets cooler. It was from myself. Now before you start talking about how weird I am for sending myself a letter, let me tell you it was from my 8th grade self. Cool huh?

In 8th grade, our teacher had us write a letter to our future selves that she would send out at the end of our senior year. Being the end of my senior year, I got my letter from my past. Here's the short, I haven't changed a bit, except I spell better now.

Here's the long with direct quotes and responses to them. So you know who's who, past will be 8 and present will be 12.

8: Remember the stupid brases. O how I missed the lemons.
12: Kind of forgot about them but love my lemons now.

8: Be your self and don't kare about critisism.
12: I still am and you spelled "care" wrong.

8: You better still have your beard or have shaved it off bacause mon and dad, and everyone els in the family forced you or some people payed you 5 dollers each.
12: Only shaved it once for a job but quit because I love it so. We can get it long enough now that we can stick a pen in it.

8: You better still have on the orange wrist band fron the Bavaryan in bacause we want to set a world record.
12: Sorry me but it fell off because it disintegrated.

8: If any of thease things don't hapen, I will tere open a portal in time and corect th problems.
12: I look forward to your visit, but no problems. You would be proud of us.

8: You better still be thinking out side the box. We must invent. We must become rich like the Fed Ex kincos guy. That (censored because I don't want to give away my product ideas) won't invent themselves.
12: Still are, forgot about that one idea. Thanks for the reminder. Don't worry, we're going to college for that.

8: Remember the old videoes we used to watch and hopefully still do. Never let Mom or Dad or (brother name censored) get rid of the old tapes. Same thing goes for the DVDs.
12: I watch the tapes and DVDs occasionally. We still have them don't you worry.

8: Remember how resorce full I was. You better fallow in my footsteps. You know that stuff has saved your butt many times.
12: Still quite resourceful. We now carry around 4 pounds of stuff every day.

8: The only reason I'm writing in red ink is because (teacher name ccensored) wouldn't let me write in my trusty pencil. Every year in Middle school, I alwayse had one pencil that only I used and is the only one I used.
12: Don't worry, when everyone complains about our pencil writing being to light, we will transfer to pen and only use pen when necessary. We still have the special pencil superstition.

8: Hopefully you beat Legend of Zelda at (our grandparents) house by now. The only excuse I will exept is "The Nes scrued up my data and I have to start over."
12: Sorry but it didn't happen. We lost interest when we couldn't find the next dungeon.

8: You better still have the Pokémon colection because that stuff will be worth a fortune.
12: Don't worry, saved it when Mom had us clean out the basement. We actually get more.

8: Along with the Star Wars stuff.
12: Now you lost me. I'm sure we still have it but don't know exactly what.

8: You can't get rid of the other video games because those are fun. When I get there, all the colection must still be there and hopefully larger than when I left.
12: Much larger. It has probably grown 3 times larger than you remember. And it's still all there.

8: If you remember me, all of my expectations will be fofilled.
12: Don't worry, things turned out good for us.

End.

I wish I could see me now. I would be proud of myself. When I have my friends over after our last day, we're all going to write letters to our future selves. It's really fun if you've never done it. You get to see how much you have and haven't changed. Aside from spelling and other really minor things, I haven't changed at all. I would be best friends with myself.
Well I better get back to figuring out how to tear a portal in time so I can see myself in another 4 years.

The end is truely here

I swore it would never hapen, and if it were to, I would use a different service, but after many years of avoiding it, I finaly got a facebook. Don't bother trying to find me, it is not Pokematic. I will only friend people I know and have met in real life. I'll friend you on dailymotion without question and will friend you on youtube if I find you worthy.

Now for my friends who are reading this, it will be an inefective way to contact me since I will check it once a week or so. Email is prefered since I check it 2-3 times a day.

I will also not be posting tones of stuff to it. I will bring myspace back or bust.

So you may be wondering why I decided to get one if I will barely use it. Well that's because it's senior year and since none of my friends respond to email, only some answer their texts, and no one uses myspace, it is the only practical way to keep in touch.

My one friend said I will end up falling in love with it, but I doubt it.

Cider Point and Prom

Hey everyone, wow have I had a fun couple of days. First I went to Cider point in Sandusky Ohio on Wednesday for Physics and then Prom on Thursday. Today I have senior skip day but not sure if I'll do much today because I'm tired and many of my friends are busy doing other things. Then this week end is finals week end so I will pretty much lock myself in my room and study. But now on to the fun details.

Cider Point was really fun. Because it was with a class, we had an assignment to do that was related to physics, but thankfully it was small. We had a one page lab that was really simple; it was basically get some facts about the magnum, ride in the back row and time how long it takes to get to the bottom (I tied my cellphone to my wrist with dental floss by going through the charm anchor so I could use the stopwatch app), then do some simple calculations and question answering. It was so much better than the kids from other schools I saw that had to do this insanely complicated looking assignment where they had to take angles and stuff. And then our lab wasn't due until the day after so I did it after because I forgot the equations. Anyways it was a really fun day. I did almost every coaster and some of the lesser rides.
Here is a list of everything I did. I will say what each one was.
  • Sky ride (basically cable car)
  • Raptor (coaster)
  • Blue Streak (coaster)
  • Wild Cat (coaster)
  • Iron Dragon (coaster)
  • Cider Point and Lake Erie Railroad (little train that goes around the park and has a cool little scene)
  • Millennium Force (coaster)
  • Sky Hawk (a kind of giant swing set)
  • Gemini (coaster)
  • Magnum XL-200 (coaster)
  • Matterhorn (a spim around kind of thing)
  • Scrambler (speaks for it's self)
  • Disaster transport (coaster inside in complete darkness)
  • Space Spiral (space needle just different name)
  • Coasters Drive-In Restaurant (a really cool 50's style restaurant that has a working record juke box)
If your are wondering why I didn't ride Dragster or Maverick, well that's because the line was to long. Either way it was a really fun day. Because it was a weekday and really early in the season, and possibly the 30% chance of ran, there weren't many people so walk on lines. There was a slite line for Iron Dragon, but that one, as long as you have a spot that's near the river, is OK to wait in line. But you need to be by the river, because of one really fun thing. There are fish in the lake, so if you spit in the lake, the fist will try to eat it. If you've never done that, I suggest you do next time you go to Cider Point. You might be surprised as to how fun it is.

Over all fun day, and sorry for no pictures. By the time I realized it, it was to late.

Now for prom. Initially I wasn't going to go. Why? Because I'm not one for school social events. Prom was actually the first dance I've gone to. I actually had this plan of throwing anti-prom. But then my now girlfriend asked me to prom, initially as just friends because that's what we were at the time. That threw me threw a loop, so I told her to let me think on it. I did say yes in the end.

For some reason our school decided to have prom at a hotel in Detroit. It was a nice hotel ball room, but come on, there are so many other places we could have gone to that both my parents and darkened optimist's parents would be OK for us to drive to on our own. BTW, darkened optimist is my girlfriend and date to prom. These were our options, our parents drive us or we get a limo. Both of our parents are cool and all, but they know that that it's a little lame to be driven to your prom by your parents. So I got 8 other friends together and we went in a limo. I got my close friends and my friend from kindergarten together and all 10 of us crammed into a probably 8 person limo. We were told it was a 10 person but we now think it was an 8 person since it was so crowded. But we all like each other so the cram was fine.

Our parents took many pictures. Here's a group photo.
Here's one of just me and Darkened Optimist
Don't we look cute?
Here's the limo and us in it.

I have many other pictures but there are to many to upload here. Here's my MySpace with my prom album.

So we get there, and we're like the first ones there. So we sit down at our table and just hang out like old times since nearly everyone now leaves for off campus classes at lunch. We all eat and then I went around and got pictures with most everyone I knew there. It was kind of just who I could find since a lot of people were crowded on the dance floor. I asked D. O. if she wanted to join me in my adventure but she didn't. Apparently that is a big boyfriend fopa, but being the man I am, I didn't know that. So then it was up to my gay friend to explain my mistake to me. It was strait out of a sitcom. We then patched things up, quite quickly might I add. So then we "danced" together. I use quotes because you could hardly call it dancing. Basically I waved my hands around similar to how other people were doing and just kind of stepped back and forth. Then when I was looking for people to take pictures with, I kind of did a fresh prince thing where I sort of danced my way across the dance floor while looking for people I knew.

Unfortunately there was only one "slow" song so the dancing lessons my parents gave me didn't get used a lot. But it was still fun even if they played only hip-hop and rap. The only line dancing they did was cupid shuffle. I was looking forward to the makarena, and I requested it, but no. It was still fun. D. O. and I "danced" most of the night. At one point my best friend and I had a "white off" where we tried to out white boy dance each other. Neither of us have beet so it was funny.

Afterwards, 7 of us went to one of our hoses where we pulled a most of the night nighter. We watched vampires suck and harry potter 7 on his probably 56 inch TV. There was one after harry potter but I forget what it was since I fell asleep after potter. It was kind of funny how we wished each other happy 1, 2, and 3 am. I was then woken up by my mom texting me at 6 to ask when I was getting home. She wasn't worried, just wondering. I then left and came back.
Here is me after all the festivities.

Fun day. Well that's all I have for now. Until again, this is Pokematic signing off, and bu-bye.

I now have add support

Hey there everyone, no big story from my life today, just some updates from my online world. This is really cool for me. I now have add support, sort of.

Google Blogger just added a device to allow Amazon Associates to include a link and/or picture thing so I can monetize off the work that I do buy giving me a commission for directing you to buy things. As of right now, I am focusing this on my video blog site thing, but also can be found in the normal blog s just links. Click here to go to the home page where everything is explained about how the site works.

As you may have noticed, I make reviews of many different things, though as of last year mainly movies. I see movies, review them, and have mainly given good ratings. Hopefully I played an important part in choosing movies, many of which are now out on DVD and blue ray.

Now, as many of you probably know, going to the movies isn't cheap. And as you video producers know, equipment isn't cheap. Sure, there is always the low quality crap, but even then I need to spend my hard earned money. Try not to mistake me for stingy, I'm just cautious with spending. But I promised myself this from the day I started making videos, that any money I receive from this will get invested right back into production, allowing me to produce the content I want to without breaking the bank. And trust me, I have some great ideas for new segments. This show budget will even allow Happy Gamer to come out of the recesses of our production schedule. With a new camera we can film his much needed game footage.

In the end it works out for everyone. Oh, and I will only run the amazon ads alongside positive reviews. That way there won't be any "I think this is stupid but buy it anyway mentality." Right now it will look ugly, but bear with it until I figure it out. There is still some bugs I need to work out on the site so feel free to inform me on any issues you find. Later.

Happy Gamer with some amazingly happy news

Hey everyone, Happy Gamer this time. Today was miserable with the heat and no A/C at my school. But the day was quickly salvaged with an amazing buy.

I was driving home from my elegy shot, and I saw a garage sale. Being a garage sailer, I stopped at it. They had the typical record, VHS, and other what not. Then I saw it in the back, an Atari 2600, with games and controllers. It was originally priced at $30 but I was able to get it at $20. What a deal right? Well somewhat.

When I got home, I saw that it connects via R/F input. If I got the name wrong or for those who don't know, that means old school rabbit ear connector. This would turn most people off or think "man I got screwed," but not me. I have adapters for antenna to cable and cable to antenna. Why, because I just do. Well I connect it to my TV, and it wasn't working. Damn!

Well being the resourceful person and gamer I am, I took the cover off to see if there was a connection problem. There was a slight one, so I pulled out an adapter for other consoles close to it's time that works similarly to the one that came with it. That worked a little but not quite. I then plugged the original one back in, and it worked. Yes!

But then there were further issues, the controllers wouldn't work. Things were starting to look grim, but once again, I was able to fix it with some work. Well after trying with original controllers, I take my Atari Flashback controllers out, and no success. I see where the controller board connects to the mother board, wiggle the ribbon wire around some, and it worked.

I now own an Atari 2600. This is so cool. It's like I just hit a video game collector and enthusiast milestone. $20 and an hour to fix it.

UPDATE: The origional conector box that came with it proved to be a piece of crap, so I did some web surfing and found a new way to conect it. I found that the transfer box could be disconected from the wire and replaced with an RCA phono to F jack converter. I got one of those at my local radio shack for $5 and conected it to the atari. Much clearer picture and sound then when compaired to the snowy and silent signal from the transfer box. I have to disconect the cable every time I wnat to play it, but it's worth it when I want to play it. Total investment, $25. Really beats a colectable price of hundreds or thousands.

just a funny waffle story

This is just a short little story about what happened to me early this morning. I very vividly dreamed my dad telling me to get up we're having waffles this morning. This all happened in my dream, so then I wake up and get out of bed. I look at my clock to see that it's 4:11 in the morning. Needless to say that no one was up and that there weren't any waffles. I then went back to sleep. It was just so vivid.
Well for reading this, here's a little something for you.

What a Mothers Day

Before I tell my story, let me start out by saying I love my family from my cousins to my grand parents, it's just that they can be a piece of work sometimes.

Happy Mothers Day everyone. Before I tell my juicy story of my dinner with my family, let me just say that on Friday and Saturday, my mom went on a retreat, so it was a mans weekend with just my dad, brother, and me with the house to ourselves. Hurray for man weekend.

As is the tradition in our family, my in the area family goes out to dinner for mothers day. This includes me, my brother, my dad, my mom, my grandma, my grandpa, and grandparents close friends that are practically family. Now for some reason, food is the single most important thing in the world to my grandparents. I go camping, their first question isn't "did you have fun," it's "what was there to eat?" I went to this big scholarship competition and they didn't ask how it went, they asked what I ate afterwards. The list goes on and on, and I appreciate that they want to know I am fed, but it gets kind of annoying after 17 years. Don't worry this goes somewhere.

So for mothers day, mom told them that they choose where we eat dinner. Well instead of choosing somewhere relatively local, they chose a restaurant that is an hour away and no where near us or them. It's a nice restaurant don't get me wrong, but there are plenty of other really nice restaurants closer. Oh well, watched Batman Beyond, Return of the Joker Uncut on the way there and back on the built in DVD player.

So we get there, say our hellos, and start looking at the menu. It was primarily a seafood that we went to, and not being a fan of seafood, I kind of wondered what I would eat. And let me say that my wonder and there worry are 2 entirely different things. And they always tell me "get whatever you want," but what they really mean is "get what ever you want, as long as it's expensive." I saw a cheese burger and decided that's what I wanted. Everyone was telling each other what they were getting, and I told them the burger, and they weren't happy with my choice. They told me to get this steak, or steak sandwich. But with those "get this" request always comes "I thought you liked (insert food I'm not getting here)." I do, I just don't want that today. But even after I say that, the "get this" continues on. No worries, I stood my ground and ordered my burger. I think it has something to do with the burger being $5 cheaper than the steak. They always want me to get the expensive for some reason, even if I assure them, "that's what I want."

Anyways after that little story, now we actually order. My parents, brother and I ordered our food with little hassle at all. We knew what we wanted and told the waitress. But then comes the time for the older generation to order, and that was a sight. "Now what's the vegetable?" "What does that come with?" "Can I substitute that for asparagus?" Oh asparagus, one decided they want it and the rest start changing their order to get asparagus instead of the mixed vegetables. Then after placing his order, my grandpa changes it after he hears what his friend is getting. So there's more craziness. There were many other things, but I can't remember all of it since I was fighting laughing so hard. Afterwards the waitress asked my parents and my brother and I if we had any changes, and we said no.

So after crazy ordering, we open cards. Nothing really special with that. Then we waited for an hour for our food. No judgement on the restaurant after the ordering.

So now our food gets here, or should I say the soup and salads. My grandma ordered beef stroganouf, and she didn't like it because it was to thick. Not that it didn't taste good, but because it was to thick. It tasted like gravy so I ate it because I love beef gravy.

So then our main dishes get here, and mine was good. What do my grand parents do, they go on and on about how good it looks. I leaned of to my grandpa and said, "How about you try it?" My family teases a lot, so I wasn't being mean, just getting even. So they eat, and we eat. We finish, so then they start passing their food onto us. "Well here, try this. It's really good." Since it was seafood they left me alone this time, but my mom and brother weren't safe. My brother is completely full, and my grandpa gives him the last quarter of his crab cake. He said he was full, even before grandpa offered, but no one is safe from the food passers. Then my grandpa gives some of his shrimp to my mom. He doesn't like the breading they put on, well any seafood from any restaurant, so he peals it all off and places it on a side plate. Mom says "well if I'm gonna have it at least let me have some of the breading."

So now we're at the end when we're boxing up the left overs. We box up our left over fries and meat like many Americans. Restaurant left overs make great lunches. But my grandma has enough left on her plait to make a full lunch. Mom says "box that up," but she says "here take my asparagus." Oh man, the asparagus you fought so hard to get, you are passing it off to some one else. Mom says take it but she says I won't eat it so you take it. A little more back and forth of take it, and mom eventually gave in. At least this time we were all on separate bills so they didn't end up arguing over who's paying. And their arguments never involve "you're paying," it's always "I'm paying." I really don't get my family no matter how hard I try, but I love them either way, and never forget that.

Happy mothers day.
