Little Caesars Pizza Bowl and the Before Party

Hey everyone, my family went to the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl with Western Michigan University and Purdue University. I'm not a big football fan but my grandpa is and as a student I get discounted tickets. So for his Christmas/Birthday gift my family took him to see the game. Before I go into details of the game, I need to talk about Bronco Bash, the before party.

With the tickets I got passes to the Bronco Bash, a pre-game party held at MGM grand casino and hotel in Detroit. Unfortunately I forgot my phone in the van so I don't have any pictures. It was really cool though. We got these VIP badge things that got us in.
It was cool. I also saw 3 of the many gold people at the entrance. I wish I had a picture of them. It's a full body suit, gold color with a brown W on the chest, and they wear sunglasses over their eyes. They also mime everything. They're quite interesting. So inside there is a buffet of hot dogs, nachos, burgers, and pizza. I had a hot dog, some nachos, and a cheeseburger. Outside they had bars with free pop, I had a sprite. This was held in a theater/conference room thing. On the stage there they had various performances. What we were able to see was a band that did covers of a bunch of different songs and some original pieces. They were pretty good. After them was the marching band. They played the fight song and the almamatre and what not. After that we went over to the stadium. I got my phone from the car at the stadium so there are pictures.

The game was at Ford Stadium in Detroit. The doors didn't open until 3 an we got there a little early, and so did other people. There was a news van getting B-roll footage. I recognised the call station, it's the CBS at my school. They saw me in my swag and I may end up on the news. They did do a close up. I took this because I thought it was funny.
Please note how the sign says no standing and look at what we're doing.

I walk in and it's just amazing. It's quite creative all the names and presentation and everything. But instead of describing, here are pictures.
Please note the interesting ways of saying where things are.

They had stands like this everywhere. They separated by having a different address. All other concessions are just cool looking.

Cant see in pic but it says loaded

Now for some cool signs and ads.

These I just found interesting
The faucet controls are just like a flusher and function the same way.
Cool looking recycling bin.

It was a great neon sign but alas, my bad camera.

Little Caesar and eveyones favorite garlic bread.

Some stadium and sinage shots

Purdue Boilermakers
We got these pom poms fro walking in. Somehow we ended up with 6 and had 4 people.
That's all the pictures. Now for description. Like usual, look up on myspace to see what I left out.

So we find our seats and get ready for the game. There was an usher that I'll refer to as Ticket Nazi where to get to your seat by the aisle, you needed your ticket. I'm pretty hard to forget, but every time I needed to show my ticket. She refused some little kids, like less than 10, entry because they didn't have their ticket. She also made sure you sat in your seat. And it was just our aisle, not others. To get to my seat I crossed the entire row to avoid her. She did take breaks which made it a little easier. I wouldn't bring this up if it weren't for the way we bent the rules.

As a student, our seats were student section seats. As we soon found out, student section is standing section. We couldn't see. My grandpa and I went to the section on the other side of the aisle, where people were sitting. Sure, they weren't our seats, but the people who had them weren't there and Ticket Nazi wasn't looking. We move over and now we can see. I made sure to be as inconspicuous as possible. Definitely not easy with a safety vest.

It's a college football game, and my college is no where near Ford Field. I guess I wasn't expecting to know anyone there. But I ran into a guy I know from Students For Life, my Fall Welcome Leader, and I think I saw my RA. I'll have to see if it was him when I go back.

This little incident, it takes serious balls to do this. I'm seated with the one group of student fans and these fans from the opposing team come over in costume with these signs that said their team was better. One was really creative. The sign said "you may lose Waldo but [school name] won't lose to you." while wearing a where's waldo get up, with the striped hat and shirt and glasses. The other guy was thing 1 but I didn't catch his sign. Everyone was booing them and telling them to get out of here and other less polite things. I don't remember the threat, but it had to do with "if something were legal." That was either the balliest or stupidest thing I've ever seen.

Half time was decent. Western did a Lady Gaga thing and all the dancers were wearing Gaga wigs and sunglasses while dancing to telephone. I left to the bathroom since I don't care for pop fodder. Purdue did Popeye the sailor man. I like Popeye.

We left about halfway through the 3rd, because by then we were all done. The game started at 4:30 and we left at 7. We were done and not much was happening. We got out easy and caught the end on ESPN. Purdue won. Well this has been Pokematic signing off and bu-bye.
