A dabble in lucid dreams.

Hey everyone, yesterday I read a thing on how to lucid dream. You know, controlling your dreams. Well the first step is knowing if it's real or dream. I already had that covered since I dream in 3rd person, and things are so weird all I have to do is look at it to know it's a dream. Now the next step is realizing it's a dream while dreaming. I've done that when it was a nightmare and was successfully able to stop it and go onto another. Before I did that in my dream, all 3 of us awakers, catholiccontriversy, happy gamer and I, were bracing themselves for going into the dream instead of just watching, hence the 3rd person perspective I guess. Well I tried calling out the dreams. The dreams didn't like that. The people in the dream would scold me and say that's not how it goes, reset. This happened many times until I realized that I need to just ride it, probably because the dreams got revenge. They were like "OK, you don't want a show, here's a field, there is nothing in this field, except for grass and small nuggets of aluminum. Go find the aluminum, in first person." Next thing I knew the sleepy time was over.

So now I'm awake. The 3 of us get a stern talking to by the dreams. They said basically that "this is our turf. We take a back seat to you guys during the day. This can give us ideas for dreams but we never interfere with the awake world. If you're going to interfere with our time, we're going to interfere with your time, and you know what we're capable of." The 3 of us were all "OK, we're sorry. We didn't know. Please don't screw in the real world."

Here's how I guess you could describe how it works with the dream. The dreams are magician. They put on a show, with things that are known to be not real, but you don't know how it's done. Even if you know how it's done, you don't let on to it. You don't say "well that's how you do it everyone!" The magicians don't like

Here's more reason why. We've had our issues when one of us spilling into the other's turf. When I made videos on catholiccontriversy's channel on youtube, he caused catholiccontriversy nothing but trouble. When I went on a journey with happy gamer and left CC behind, he got them banned from blip after 3 days. We have a yin-yang relationship, where each person has their place without the others interfering with the place unless invited to which we get the dots in yin-yang. Still even, just in different places. But when one tries to take area, bad things happen. Now have the yin-yang on 1 side of a coin, with the dreams controlling the other side. They have much more control but only exercise that when the coin is flipped, aka sleep. If they were to start coming over to the other side, bad things are sure to happen. I'd likely start hallucinating, not sure what is real and what isn't. I have a feeling I'm going to pay for my insolence tonight in the dream. I'm going to be invited up on stage for the craziness. No more trying to lucid dream, just going to enjoy the show. Well this has been Pokematic signing off and bu-bye.

Some troubling news for us at ccpandhg incorperated

Hey everyone, catholiccontriversy here standing in for Pokematic because right now, Pokematic and Happy Gamer are having some issues. You see, a couple of days ago, Pokematic and Happy Gamer set out on a business venture where they would upload their videos to Blip and make money off of the revenue program and embed the classy video player in our video site. They were going to do this without me. Long story short, Pokematic got them both banned from blip within 3 days of registering. Happy Gamer didn't even have the chance to upload any of his videos, so now he hate's Pokematic.

While I am enjoying this lesson in the real world Pokematic is getting, mainly read the key points of the TOS and err on the side of caution, I do hate to see them fight like this. Hopefully soon we'll put out a video of us all telling our sides of the story. We're busy. Back on the topic of fighting. Pokematic and I would argue occassionally. OK, alot, but it was alwayse things where I knew I was right and he eventually learned that. We never held a grudge and would be fine really quickly. Unfortunately this isn't the case between Happy Gamer and Pokematic. "No I'm not going to call you Un-Happy Gamer and Pokematic the scumbag that robbed you of greatness."
For those of you who are just tuning in, I, catholiccontriversy, have a youtube channel and Pokematic has a metacafe channel. All 3 of us, me, Happy Gamer, and Pokematic, all upload to Dailymotion. I have a fair number of videos, and so does Pokematic, and we both have our own little get aways. Happy Gamer on the other hand, is stuck on Dailymotion and has only 3 videos. He doesn't get out much, and I beleive he saw this as his chance to get out there, and Pokematic ruined it for him.

Pokematic, you need to make this up to Happy Gamer, somehow. Maybe instead of making blogs and videos, you could think of how to make it up to him. But here this, I'm not going to fix it for you. This is your problem, and apart from you two destroying each other, I won't interviene. You didn't want my help with running the blip account, you won't need me here. Well this has been catholiccontriversy signing off and may God bless you.

Happy Gamer's Good Game Day

Words cannot explain the joy I'm feeling right now.

Here's the story, there's this video game store near my college. They have a bunch of old games, and some really rare ones as well. I don't have my N64 with me here at college. I have my snes 2 here because it's the only console I don't have connected to my TV at home. I have my snes 1 connected to my rats nest of cables. Well, today I went there, with $70 in my pocket an bought, well look at the title and figure it out. It's a big hint.

I walked in, and went over to the case it was in. Waited for the guy to ask if I needed help with something, to which I said "yes I'd like (Name Reviled at End)." His store is not just a store, it's also a hang out. I can say that because I would be there myself if it weren't for my work. Well one of the guys there saw that I was buying it. He asked "how much you got that listed for?" "$59.99." Those of us who knew the history educated the guy who didn't know. I'll cover the history when I make a review.

The short, not many copies were sold because Nintendo wouldn't advertise it to make it a success, only allowing ads to be in adult magazines like Playboy and late night television. The couple of people who were lucky enough to get it when it came out really enjoyed it and it gained a cult following. Because of that, it is now the Rarest and most sought after game for the N64.

The guy who owns the store appreciates a good game. He says he hates losing good games like this. Just recently he sold the in box final fantasy 3. I told him that this is the crown jewel of my collection. He had me inspect the game cartridge, make sure it was clean and all. I have 7 days to make sure it works. Even if it doesn't work, I don't know if I'll return it. It's the rarest game on the n64 for crying out loud.

Can't wait to go home and try it out. Well this has been happy gamer saying game on and have fun.

OK if you don't know what I'm talking about, I don't blame you, it is rare and obscure. It's Conker's Bad Fur Day. Here's me happy.

Going to the Verizon Store and Cleaning Out My Room, and converting

Hey everyone, yet another day in the life of Pokematic. Today I converted VHS tapes to DVD, went to the Verizon store, and cleaned out my room. While that may not sound super interesting, it actually was. Let me start out with the converting.

We have a family friend who has a son that is 4, and we have a bunch of tapes from when I was that age. The tapes right now were basically collecting dust, because I have no use to watch them. While partially because I have outgrown them, I have seen them all at least 200 times. Back then we didn't have cable, so I would watch the tapes because there was rarely anything on over the air that was age appropriate. Well I'm converting over Veggie Tales, Donut Man, 321 Penguins!, Bible Man, Adventures in Odyssey, and McGee and me. Now I don't really consider this violation of copyright. I would have given them the tapes but they don't have a VCR so to pass on the videos, I am putting them on to DVD. Here is a video of my set-up.
That's a DVD/VCR recorder combo with a small black and white tube TV that isn't cable ready and has only one input jack for video only. I was hoping that there was a copy function like with an other one that my mom brought home from school. So I have our personal VCR/DVD combo connected to it (not in picture) running to the DVD recorder/VCR combo (in picture) then running to the TV, just so I can see what I'm doing.

Well aside from converting tapes to DVD, I also went to the Verizon store. My mom was having some troubles with her phone, and being the tech person in the family, it was up to me to take it in and see if I could get it fixed. The problem was that it wasn't turning on. Well I took it in and apparently the battery was dead. We have a feeling that the charger is bad and that's why there is no charge on the battery. Well I had some fun playing around with the demo phones and tablets. The Samsung Galaxy Tab has a keyboard docking station. More tablets should have those. It makes them more practical. I also played with the Sony Xperia Play. Happy Gamer really enjoyed that. He even wrote an entry in the ccpandhg site. You can read that here. Well we shall see how the phone holds out.

Well the last thing I did was clean out my room some. It wasn't a full clean. I've kind of been working in parts. First was I cleaned off the top of my dresser, but that was a few weeks ago. Today I cleaned off a desk with 4 drawers. I found a lot of pencils and put them with the family set of pencils and pens. I found a Kennedy Silver Dollar. I added that to my collection of coins. I also found a lot of cool stuff, like a mood ring that fits perfectly on my pinkie. I organized the drawers into categories. It sure seemed like I would have to get rid of a lot to get it all to fit. But surprisingly, I just had to move some stuff around and now there is plenty of space. Now I just have to go through the shelves and it'll be all good. It was a bit like Auction Hunters. I go in and find all this cool stuff.

Well it was an interesting day. Kind-of fun. Well this has been Pokematic signing off and bu bye.

No videos for now

Hey everyone. In my last post I said I was sorry about not making videos because I've been busy. Well I tried to make a video yesterday and low and behold, the mic isn't working. Well here's what I'll do: First I'll upload the few videos I have recorded just not edited. Once those are done, I'm going to do text reviews on my ccpandhgvideos blog. http://ccpandhgvideos.blogspot.com/2010/12/home.html
Click there and remember the web adress so you can read what the videos would be if the mic was working. I hope you enjoy the text reviews since I can't do video reviews. I'm really sorry about any inconvienence. I will do update videos when a new review is up. Thank-you for understanding.
Well this has been Pokematic signing off, and bu bye.

Remembering hypnotism and was that 42nd street

Hi everyone, might I say that last night was really weird. Whenever I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom or get a drink of water, I am typically able to fall back asleep really quickly. Well last night I had some trouble falling back asleep. I think I had heart burn, or just some acid reflex, or something that made the bottom back of my throat feel like it was burning with stomach acid. In my drowsy state, my logical way of solving it was to drink a lot of water, but that just made me need to pee 15 minutes later. About another 15 minutes later, I realize what it is, so I go down stairs and have half a tum. That helps, but my mind still won't shut up for another 25 minutes or so. Here's what was going through my mind all this time.
Remember how I talked about the hypnotist at the all night party with my school? Well I was imagining if I didn't keep my mouth shut when I was in the group hypnotism. I imagined if I asked why my arms were inverses, then he asked me to sit up on stage, and then do the glue thing. I imagined if I did yell "I am hulk" when I did pull my hands apart. He then hypnotized me, and I did the things where he "connected our minds," which I still thinks is bull. Apparently when hypnotized, he connected the 11 saps on stages minds and when he tapped one, the rest knew where he tapped without him talking. Well I believe I have an incredibly strong and uncontrollable subconscious and unconscious. I think he told us the wrong conscious that he uses in hypnotism. If it were subconscious the people would have some knowledge of what happened but they had no knowledge, so I think it was unconscious. Anyways, if I didn't have my crazy strong uncontrollable unconscious, I wouldn't have been able to pull my hands apart. Where was I? Oh yeah, the linked minds. Well I imagined if I was connected with everyone else, and I ended up taking over. I was blabbering things about him being a quack, and everyone was saying it in sync with me. He then disconnected all our minds, and made me 4 years old like in the show. This deserves its own paragraph.
Well let me start out by saying that age regression is a myth, so I ended up telling him that, and explained how it was just making me think I believed I was 4, and I made little sense. But I went on and on, he interrupted me, and this is what I said "you interrupted me, now I need to start all over again." As a 4 year old, and up until maybe 7, I NEVER shut up. My grandparents tell me stories about how on the way to a family reunion when I was 4, I didn't stop talking from the time we started, all the way to the hotel, for 2 hours. And whenever I was talking to my cousins, and they interrupted me, I always told them "you interrupted me, now I need to start all over again." I always did. I don't think much has changed; I just have greater control of it now. OK so back story out of the way, he asked me why I was doing this, and I in depth explained how I had ADHD, but my parents don't know that yet. He told me there was an audience of teenagers out there, and as a little kid, I was afraid of teenagers. I start crying and hide behind the chairs. I don't remember how he got me back in front of everyone, but he did, and more hilarity happened. All I remember was that we "went on a trip to the zoo" and I wouldn't sit still "on the bus" and when I went by the snakes, we were supposed to lift up our legs because the snakes came crawling near our feet. Well even at that age, I loved snakes. Instead of lifting my legs, I "bent over, picked one up, and started showing it off to everyone."
Now I probably would have continued to imagine all the show, but I wanted to go to sleep. It was almost 5 in the morning, and I started at about 4. I wanted my sleep! So I tried shutting up my running mind, but to no real avail. I realized that my subconscious and unconscious have some part of my conscious, of which I have some control but little control over. Well here's how I shut it up. I personified my conscious as catholiccontriversy, my unconscious as happy gamer, and subconscious as Pokematic. First catholiccontriversy beat them both up. Happy gamer gave up after that, but Pokematic didn't want to give up without a fight. So I thought of a really boring repeatable activity. I counted dishes coming out of the dish washer. But I wasn't counting. It was more like; "plait goes in the plait pile, cup goes on the shelf." It was mundane, repetitive, and just what I needed to shut Pokematic up. I did that for a while, and I felt myself fall asleep. Oh yeah, another cool thing about me. If I try hard enough and do it just right, I can actually remember falling asleep. It's really cool.
So now for my weird dream. I was in the pit orchestra of a show I was in the pit orchestra for back in the beginning of the school year. That show, was 42nd street. But something was...off. For starters, the pit wasn't very deep. In fact it probably only went down 2 1/2 feet, and I was facing the stage able to see the whole show. Now the weirdness doesn't stop there. None of the songs we played were actually from the play, except for dames which was only that in name. It sounded nothing like the actual song dames, but I had a solo which was cool. Another thing was no main characters from the play. There was no Peggy, no Dorthy, no Juline Marx, no billy lawyer, no anyone. Then there were only a few instruments in the pit. I remember there being me, the trombone, a French horn, and a trumpet, and maybe a flute. There wasn't the super important piano. The piano is so important to the music of 42nd street, that we had 2 players when we actually did it. One really strange thing is that I got lost while playing. I'm not saying I never get lost, that would be inhuman, but always during rehearsal and practice, never during the performance. It was as if I was hearing the music for the first time. Well the crazy play ended before it was supposed to end. I still had "the money of a student" to play. I wonder if that was somehow supposed to be "we're in the money." It either stopped because my internal sleep timer said I had my 8 hours or because things were getting to weird, even for my dreams. Chances are it was because I was aware of how weird things were. That's a new one even for me. It was as if I was in a parallel universe, as myself and not my parallel self like I normally am.

Well I better get to writing than-you notes. Later and I hope you enjoyed.

I now have add support

Hey there everyone, no big story from my life today, just some updates from my online world. This is really cool for me. I now have add support, sort of.

Google Blogger just added a device to allow Amazon Associates to include a link and/or picture thing so I can monetize off the work that I do buy giving me a commission for directing you to buy things. As of right now, I am focusing this on my video blog site thing, but also can be found in the normal blog s just links. Click here to go to the home page where everything is explained about how the site works.

As you may have noticed, I make reviews of many different things, though as of last year mainly movies. I see movies, review them, and have mainly given good ratings. Hopefully I played an important part in choosing movies, many of which are now out on DVD and blue ray.

Now, as many of you probably know, going to the movies isn't cheap. And as you video producers know, equipment isn't cheap. Sure, there is always the low quality crap, but even then I need to spend my hard earned money. Try not to mistake me for stingy, I'm just cautious with spending. But I promised myself this from the day I started making videos, that any money I receive from this will get invested right back into production, allowing me to produce the content I want to without breaking the bank. And trust me, I have some great ideas for new segments. This show budget will even allow Happy Gamer to come out of the recesses of our production schedule. With a new camera we can film his much needed game footage.

In the end it works out for everyone. Oh, and I will only run the amazon ads alongside positive reviews. That way there won't be any "I think this is stupid but buy it anyway mentality." Right now it will look ugly, but bear with it until I figure it out. There is still some bugs I need to work out on the site so feel free to inform me on any issues you find. Later.

Happy Gamer with some amazingly happy news

Hey everyone, Happy Gamer this time. Today was miserable with the heat and no A/C at my school. But the day was quickly salvaged with an amazing buy.

I was driving home from my elegy shot, and I saw a garage sale. Being a garage sailer, I stopped at it. They had the typical record, VHS, and other what not. Then I saw it in the back, an Atari 2600, with games and controllers. It was originally priced at $30 but I was able to get it at $20. What a deal right? Well somewhat.

When I got home, I saw that it connects via R/F input. If I got the name wrong or for those who don't know, that means old school rabbit ear connector. This would turn most people off or think "man I got screwed," but not me. I have adapters for antenna to cable and cable to antenna. Why, because I just do. Well I connect it to my TV, and it wasn't working. Damn!

Well being the resourceful person and gamer I am, I took the cover off to see if there was a connection problem. There was a slight one, so I pulled out an adapter for other consoles close to it's time that works similarly to the one that came with it. That worked a little but not quite. I then plugged the original one back in, and it worked. Yes!

But then there were further issues, the controllers wouldn't work. Things were starting to look grim, but once again, I was able to fix it with some work. Well after trying with original controllers, I take my Atari Flashback controllers out, and no success. I see where the controller board connects to the mother board, wiggle the ribbon wire around some, and it worked.

I now own an Atari 2600. This is so cool. It's like I just hit a video game collector and enthusiast milestone. $20 and an hour to fix it.

UPDATE: The origional conector box that came with it proved to be a piece of crap, so I did some web surfing and found a new way to conect it. I found that the transfer box could be disconected from the wire and replaced with an RCA phono to F jack converter. I got one of those at my local radio shack for $5 and conected it to the atari. Much clearer picture and sound then when compaired to the snowy and silent signal from the transfer box. I have to disconect the cable every time I wnat to play it, but it's worth it when I want to play it. Total investment, $25. Really beats a colectable price of hundreds or thousands.

Merry Christmas

Hey everyone, it's Christmas and here is a snapshot of my Christmas. Every year I go over to my grandparents we exchange some gifts then and there. This year my parents and aunt got my grandpa a new HD TV. It's a nice 32 inch Visio. Far better than the fuzzy 27 inch Zenith he had. Being the tech master of my family, I was the one who connected everything. I like doing it though. Me, I got a sonic the hedgehog DVD, an adventures of sonic the hedgehog DVD, sonic colors for ds, a commemorative $2 bill, a star $100 bill, and some other things. It was fun.

My whole family had fun coming up with a creative way of giving my grandpa the TV. We decided on giving him boxes with small gifts in them and a slip of paper saying we made many donations in his name to phony charities. They had names whose acronyms spell "sap," "crap," and "shitty" all that give hints that we got him a TV. He thought the charities were real and that we really made donations in his name to them. My dad and I were laughing hysterically. Once he got to the final box, my dad, my brother, and I went out to the van to get the TV. He was so happy.

Now on to Christmas day.

I woke up and saw my gifts under the tree as seen here.

The exact order I opened in I don't remember and all my gifts aren't in these photos, but here is what I got on digital film.

The Green Lantern first flight, Mr. Bean's Holiday, Batman Under the Red Hood, and Superman Doomsday.

Super Mario Sleep Pants

DSiXL Bundle from Costco

A Fuzzy Dice Game and a new hat from My Coke Rewards.

Gobstoppers and Batman and Superman Public Enemies.

And here is all that I unwrapped. I also got an electric blanket, candy, and a watch key chain.
That's all I have interesting gift wise. Now on to other interesting stories.
Every year for the past couple of years, my family hosts Christmas dinner at our house. That always involves cleaning up. Our TV room is always a mess and it is high traffic. And just add new electronics to the mix. It is a mess and still is. But this year, it was at a family friend's house. That means I didn't have to clean up!!!!!!!! I was so happy at that.
On Christmas eve, my family went to 10:00pm mass. Our church doesn't do midnight mass. After the fun I had earlier that day, I had some trouble fighting the tiredness. But after doing the sign of the cross over my eyes, I just had some trouble mentally. My eyes stayed open and I got the spiritual part all right. It was the first time we tried that and we don't think we will do it again. We all had some allergy trouble with the incense as well. Luckily, my mom and brother were awake enough to get us home since my dad and I were both fighting sleep.
My family is also really big on the religion part of Christmas. We had somewhere between 10 and 20 nativities. They are also all unique. We have multiple nativity ornaments, a nativity window light, a play mobile nativity, and many others. It's good to not get to commercial and remember the birth of our savior Jesus. But don't think we don't have Santa's, because we do. We have a Santa's workshop, a Santa delivering presents, a Santa's sleigh, stockings over our chimney, and others.
We actually have this motion sensitive tree that sings abridged versions of jingle bells and Santa clause is coming to town. We got it many years ago when my brother and I were 7 and 5 I think and we loved it. We drove our parents nuts with it. And once we set it up in front of the door, and when my dad walked in, he was so startled. I guess we set it up and forgot about it, so when he walked in late at night and in complete darkness, it must be really scary to hear "merry Christmas everybody" with blinking, light-up, green eyes. Ah memories.
A semi tradition in my family is we watch "A Christmas Story" on TBS during their 24 hour marathon. I love that movie especially "I triple dog dare you." We never watch the entire movie in one sitting, typically it's over multiple showings since it is shown 12 times.
That's all for now. Later.

We are getting a website sort-of

Salut everyone. Pokematic here with some cool news.
Ya know how we post to 3 different video sites and they aren't all that organized? Well, if you didn't notice, they are and we do. But one of us had the great idea of geetting a website. All of us think we came up with the idea first and we will never know who thought of it first.

Anyways, we created a new blog that we will run similar to a personal site to organize videos. We have been working hard for the past few day on this project. We created a "home page" post with links to the "individual video" posts. It is curently in the works and is lots of work. This will be verry profesional looking. Hopefully.

This is separate from this blog but will run similar to the early days of this blog. We will not forget about this since we have many stories that will not be video worthy or make much sence as a video.

I hope to get it done by the time Christmas comes along. Consider it our gift to you this year.

Au-revoir.
PS: Salut is hi and Au-revoir is bye in French.

Unforseen issues

Attention fans,
due to unforseen technical dificulties, happy gamer won't make another happy gamer video until we get a new camera. He can't use the webcam because it is built into the computer the rest of us use for videos. So it looks like it will only be catholiccontriversy and I for a while. No real problem right?

Welcome to our blog. This is the official blog of pokematic, happy gamer, and catholiccontriversy. This blog is maintained by pokematic but will be about anyproject we are working on regardless of whether it's a pokematic, happy gamer, or catholiccontriversy video. We hope you enjoy.
